This page of our MoonStonesTM handcrafted jewelry section is devoted to handmade silver earrings.  In addition to sterling silver, these earrings often contain one or more of the following: semi-precious stones or semi-precious stone beads, Swarovski crystal, glass, bone, and shell.

Since sterling silver is prone to tarnish, you may wish to store your earrings in sealed plastic bags when not in use. This is especially important for those of you who live on the coasts as the sea air can turn silver black in a very short time. A piece of chalk (yep, just plain old blackboard type chalk) placed in the bag or any closed container with your silver will also help keep tarnish at bay.

SILVER SEASHELL DROP EARRINGS

These handmade silver earrings look good at any time of the year, but we particularly like them in the summertime because of the seashell motif which evokes thoughts of sunny beaches and summer vacations.

SILVER CHAIN EARRINGS

Handmade from five different patterns of sterling silver chain, these earrings will swing and sway as their wearer walks. This is a classic design that will never go out of style. The French hooks and cones which finish off the earrings are also made of sterling silver.

As with any of our dangle earring designs, these can be made up with sterling silver studs, lever-back findings, or even clips. Please contact us if you would like a modified design.  (This will also affect the price of the finished earrings.)

SILVER FILIGREE FLOWER EARRINGS

These handmade silver filigree earrings come with your choice of amethyst (as shown), blue topaz, or garnet faceted stones. The filigree scrolls surrounding the stone reminded us of Victorian floral designs, which is how this pattern got its name.

These are one of our favorites even though they are a lot of work. ( I must confess that I made myself a pair with dark green tourmalines as green is one of my favorite colors.) These earrings will work well for both evening and day wear. As a matter of fact, you can wear them comfortably all day and right into the evening as the filigree design makes them very light weight.
