As you can see, the last item on our holiday food gift basket page isn't exactly a basket. For a change of pace, you might like this hand-painted wooden sleigh filled with holiday goodies./p>

The contents include a bag of wonderful "peppermint ice creams" from Marisch Confectionery Co. (in case you're wondering, no, they aren't the frozen kind, but they sure are yummy!), wild blueberry tea, cocoa, Northwest smoked salmon, crackers, chocolates, and gourmet cookies.

Once the contents have been eaten, the sleigh may be very easily transformed into a holiday centerpiece by filling it with Christmas ornaments, evergreen branches, or silk flowers and greenery. We made a centerpiece version as well using silver colored ornaments and silver artificial foliage. Isn't it a great feeling to give a gift that will last for many holidays to come?

Our sleigh centerpiece is only one version of many possibilities using the emptied wooden sleigh.
